Today in room 16:

We started our morning some time to share our classrooms and do some quick review for our social test. 

The next hour we had our Pillars of Care assembly.

Congrats to the winners of the 5 pillars!

After we finished the assembly we had our decision making social unit test. The test was made up of multiple choice, short answer and a critical thinking question.

We then had about 45 minutes to do robocoding or mathletics before heading off to gym at the end of the day.

We will be remaking these poems in a poetry project that I will introduce tomorrow.

Today in room 16:

We started our morning with some time to read before diving into math. In math today we practiced creating a graph using the distances walked in class during out Walk for Wenjack week. I did a graph, then we did one together with similar data. Finally they did a graph on their own using the data from another class. Students had to compute the km's walked for each day and then total them up for the week. Students then graphed the data in partners. We finished this in the afternoon.

After recess and snack we had some time to work on our poems!

After music and gym we used the rest of the morning to review decision making concepts in social. We did a few kahoots online to test our knowledge as well.

Today in room 5:

We started our morning a little differently today.

We began with some time to create footprints to represent our distance walked during the walk for Wenjack week. The footprints have a message of who they were walking for and the pattern from the bottom of their shoe.

After Art we moved into math and began practicing multiplication. Today we watched two amazing videos on mathantics.com that explained in detail how to multiply whole numbers. We will continue this throughout the week and connect it to decimals as well.

After math we had recess and snack before DEAR time. We then headed off to gym to play some badminton, practicing our serves and playing mini games. 

The next chunk of our morning was spent on some poetry. We covered four poems today.

- Limerick

We reviewed the poems and then got right to work. This week we will be starting our new poetry project.  More details to come. 

In the afternoon I gave the students a new spelling list and time to work from social textbooks on their social words.
