Happy Tuesday September 7th, 2021!

Reminders:

  1. Return classroom contract ASAP PLEASE!
  2. Return updated digital citizenship form by FRIDAY SEPT 10. Your child cannot use the computers or tech in the school otherwise.
  3. Large packet of forms sent home today! Please read and return all required forms by FRIDAY SEPT 10
  4. September 23/24 - Meet the Teacher day 
  5. No school Sept 24 (Day 2 of Meet the teacher)
  6. September 29 - Orange Shirt Day
  7. September 30 - Truth and Reconciliation day (No school)
  8. September 31 - Pillars of Care assembly (virtual in school assembly)

Today in room 16:

Welcome back to another amazing week in room 16 everyone!

Today we started our morning by talking about our weekends, assigned classroom jobs, and wrote we are learning about in the four core subjects on the subject wall.

We then moved right into math and completed four computation questions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. I pushed some students to already start working with decimals! After going over the answers we started to explore some place value concepts. We made notes on how to write numbers from 0-1,000,000,000 and their place value. We will continue working with place value all week.

After snack and recess we began working on our Pillars of Care documentation of learning board. As a class we planned out the board and then split into groups of 3-4 to create the 5 pillars and examples of how we can show each. 

Once lunch, pm recess, and mindfulness were finished we used the rest of the day to continue working on our pillars. Students also created signs, arrows, cut pictures and created questions for other students to answer. 

We then cleaned the class and went on our way!
