Important updated school due dates:
Oct. 13 (YESTERDAY) Concrete Poems were due today! I have now started a list of students that have homework due tomorrow! I will call parents tomorrow if they are not handed in.
Oct 14 (Thursday) Place value test. Will review everything we have covered up until this point.
Oct 20 (Wednesday *NEW DATE*) Trees and Forest quiz on the trees, tree cookies and tree knowledge.
Today in room 16:
We started our morning with the usual day 3 DEAR time. Today we finally were able to log in and experience Robogarden coding! This coding program has the students developing their problem solving skills and creating code in a game format. We will be doing this program every Thursday from 8:30-9:30.
After coding we had snack and recess before doing a science review. This science review covered the concepts we explored over the last few weeks. Our test next Wednesday will be on:
-Tree parts and functions
-Tree cookies and their growth patterns
-Deciduous vs coniferous trees
After science we had gym (badminton) and music before writing our decimal place value and addition/subtraction test. We will be marking these tomorrow and they will be sent home over the weekend to correct!
The last chunk of our day was spent outside for recess, doing mindfulness, and then practicing our skits for equity and equality. These skits will be taking place tomorrow and Tuesday! We made props, rehearsed and ironed out our skits today.
