Today in room 16:
We started our morning with some time to read and talk about our upcoming assembly. Room 16 will be hosting the assembly and we have chosen two student MC's. They will begin practicing next week!
Our next chunk of our morning was spent on laptops completing assignments in RoboGarden coding. We also used the last half hour of laptop time to complete assignments in Mathletics for Mathletics champions week.
After snack and recess we had a short block to be introduced to our novel study: Touching Spirit Bear by Ben Mikaelson. Today we learned about the author, learned how he writes based off experience and then did a small activity where we created four story ideas based off our personal experience.
Mr Wiens then took the students for music before we went off to gym to play some large games of volleyball with four people on each team.
The last chunk of our morning was spent learning about different forest perspectives. The three perspectives we learned about were, environmentalist, tourist, and industrialist. Tomorrow we will look at the indigenous perspective and then create large charts in small groups to showcase what we learned!
Have a great day everyone.
Bonus words are: Municipal District, advisory committee and department of government.
