Today in room 16:
We started our morning with some DEAR time to read our library books from the previous day.
The next chunk of our morning was spent doing a big review of measurement concepts for our test tomorrow. We covered unit conversions, area and perimeter of triangles, rectangles and L shapes, volume of cubes and finding the LWH of a cube that we know the volume of.
We then went outside for recess and time on the compound (Thank goodness for the warmer weather!)
In LA today we did a small group activity to discuss whether the main character of our novel study handled his banishment. Students discussed this serious topic and shared their answers with the class. The last chunk was spent reading another chapter of Touching Spirit Bear.
After LA we had science and continued the daytime amount of sun and observations we can make about the sky. We are graphing the amount of daylight as we go and noticing which planets can be seen each day! We also worked in small groups to create posters showing different things that emit or reflect light in our solar system, atmosphere and classroom.
The students had gym with Ms Sterne today and began gymnastics. The rule is...no neck stuff. Which means, no handstands, flips or holds that would otherwise cause damage to the neck.
We finished our day with some mindfulness meditation before working on our local government cities.
Hope everyone has a Terrific Thursday evening!
