Reminders
Patrollers start next week!
No school February 17, 18, 21 (Teachers convention and family day)
Social Cities are now very late. Parent calls have been made. Please ensure work is being completed on time.
Today in room 16:
We started our morning with some catch up time to finish the math, art, social and science from the week. We now have our space art up on the walls for all to see!
The hour after this time spent was spent learning the ins and outs of Minecraft education! This week the students had fun in creative mode exploring how the program worked. Next week we will start building our own city.
We then moved into a large debate style city council meeting in which we investigated a proposed bylaw written by a student. The students argued for and against the bylaw and met as cousillors between each round of debates. Afterwards they voted on the motion and the motion was rejected. Very cool experience for all the students!
We finished our morning with gym and an appreciation circle to review how we showed love this week and review our weekly goals.
Hope everyone has a great day!
Mr Lancee
Parents – just a reminder that our patrollers are on duty each morning in rain, snow, and fine weather (We do not patrol on blue days). Could you please wait until they call, ‘Point, double-check, and proceed,’ before making your way between the pylons and safely across the street.
Patroller schedules were sent home today! Please ensure your children are familiar with their day and time. We are only doing morning patrols for now. Please arrive at 7:45 am, get ready, be on the crosswalk with your team at 7:50 am. Shifts end just after 8:00 then students will head to class. Subs should also be on time in case they are needed!
Please also be aware of our parking guidelines.
They are:
-no parking for any length of time in the bus zone!
-no parking within 5 metres of a stop sign or cross walk or corner of 2 streets (Tell them they should be able to take 5 large steps between their vehicle and any of these)
-stay out of the staff parking lot
Thank you as well to our Patrol parents who ensure our students arrive on time to volunteer. It’s greatly appreciated!
