We started our morning with our basic facts quiz. We will mark this test tomorrow and have it sent home. The rest of math was spent reviewing the integers material for our test tomorrow.

For the test....

Students need to be able to add and subtract integers and decimal numbers

Compare integers using greater than or less than

Order integers from greatest to least and least to greatest.

Solve integer word problems.

Practice sheets can be found at the bottom.

After math we started our social presentations. These presentations are on different sections of provincial government and are used as a way to help the students teach each other about what they have learned.

We had quick science lesson today in which we continued our exploration of air pressure. We learned how air pressure is controlled in part by altitude!

We finished our day by going over the rest of the study guide and doing some fun kahoots about provincial government. SOOOOOOOOOO study study study!!!

We started our morning with a quick appreciation circle to talk about the week and our goal of not spreading rumours or gossip around the classroom.

We also had our artist in residence come for a visit! This awesome experience has the students each creating a board with a piece of a design on them. Every student in the school paints the boards and we then they will be combined and placed on one of the fences.

After recess and snack we moved into spelling. The spelling words are from our provincial government unit as a way to help the students study for their test Friday.

In gym today we began creating our own games. These games will be presented to the class for everyone to play.

After gym we had a large work block in social. I gave the students a big chunk of time to work on their social posters. We will present these posters Wednesday and Thursday to the class to help us study. The posters are an in class project.

In the afternoon we had our math block. With their being two tests this week we did basic facts and integers review. Below are some examples for all students to practice. I sent home a check in test the other day to see how students are doing.

Adding and subtracting integers

We started our morning with some time to finish spelling sentences, study for the spelling test, and read. We then went off to our early morning gym to play some cooperative games.

The next chunk of our morning was spent doing some testing! First our spelling test on the different properties of air. Followed immediately by a math integer check in. The integer check in showed me which students are able to compare integers and add/subtract integers. Sheets were marked and sent home to be signed! PLEASE SIGN AND RETURN BOTH TESTS.

After testing we did a new desk arrangement before working on our provincial government posters. Our plan is to have the next test for provincial government on Friday next week. Below is some review sheets that will greatly help students prep for the test.

We finished our morning with a sit spot outside and a quick appreciation circle.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

In science today I gave the students time to work on their spelling sentences which we will be due Friday. We then did an experiment using balloons to test if air takes up enough space to lift a textbook off of a desk.

We finished off our afternoon with a large chunk of time to work on stories. Students will be printing them Friday so I can mark them. Today some students were finishing while others revised and edited other students work.

Hope everyone has a great evening!
